INTRODUCING
OUR STAFF
Michael Heit, MD,
PHD, MSPH
The
first fellowship-trained Urogynecologist in Kentucky, he has pioneered many
treatments being used today in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
He is sought after as an expert speaker by both the professional and lay
communities, and has been invited to present the results of his research at
numerous professional conferences and seminars, as evidenced by his CV.
He will receive his PhD in clinical investigative sciences by the spring
of 2005. His particular areas of
research interest are care seeking behavior, and improved and innovative
treatment modalities for his patients.
Carol Graham, MD
Dr.
Graham is the first fellowship-trained female Urogynecologist to practice in Kentucky,
and the only U.S. fellowship-trained female Urogynecologist in the State. Dr. Graham
maintains a
busy clinical practice and manages our Continence Center. She began
her basic science research in the 1980’s, and also has many years of experience in
clinical trials. Dr.
Graham has also been invited to present the results of her research studies at
numerous professional conferences and seminars. The
hormonal
effects on pelvic floor function have been of special research interest to Dr. Graham.
Lee Epstein, MD
Dr. Epstein is our second year fellow, and actively involved in our research endeavors.
In addition, they are encouraged to pursue their own research studies.
Both fellows have been invited to present the results of their research
at the annual scientific meetings of the American Urogynecology Society.
Michelle Newton, RT
Michelle
has over nine years of experience in urogynecological procedures, testing, and
training, and manages the day-to-day operations of our
Continence Center.
